[It's all Eric can do to nod, feeling overcome by holding Alan so close after all this. He wraps both arms around the smaller man's waist and holds him tight against him. After a brief, forced laugh, he manages to make a joke.]

At least you'll know where to find me next time. Just peel me off the bathroom floor.

[It warm and he's comfortable settled right here. That was another thing he hated about the hospital was he couldn't do this, couldn't get closer than sitting at his bedside. Was it this bad for Eric when he was sick? Had this been just a glimpse of what it was like?]

I don't think I like it when you get sick but I'll peel you of any floor so I can bring you home to take care of you.

It's been a long day. We should get some sleep.

[Actually, Eric's feeling exhausted still, but he wouldn't say it directly. He doesn't let go of Alan, though.]

We should. Do you want to move to the bed? I'm sure we can prop you on enough pillows for you to be comfortable.

[He has no intentions of moving just yet and even if they do move to the bed he'll still be pressed as closing to Eric as he can be. After all of this it's the only way he'll feel better, feel right again is to be close to Eric.]

[Eric laughed a little, still holding him tight.]

Have I managed to charm my way back into your affections enough to be allowed to sleep in the bed with you?

[He peered at him and rolled his eyes, leaning in to kiss his cheek.]

I wouldn't make you sleep on the couch while you're sick and right now I don't think I could handle us being apart again. So if you can make it to the bed we can sleep in there together. Other wise I'm going to go grab a couple pillows a blanket and sleep out here with you.


[Perhaps it was a little childish and silly but it was the truth.]

[Eric chuckles as the kiss comes. He wraps his arms around Alan and holds him tight.]

You won't be without me. [The statement makes him smile.] And you're not going to sleep on the couch. I can make it.

[He laughs a little, stroking Alan's hair.]

And here I thought I'd worked my way back into your good graces.

[He quiets settling against his chest a bit, his hold on Eric tightening. Those words are comforting, sending relief through him.]

Good. [He grins and nuzzles against Eric's jaw.] Even if you couldn't you'd still make yourself make it to the bed, you're that stubborn.

[He sighs softly and presses a kiss to his jaw.]

You were never out of my good graces.

[Eric sighs, more like a purr as Alan is close, snuggling against him. He chuckles a little at the kiss. Eric's jaw is rough with stubble, but he's too tired to care.]

You made a good show of it, you know.

[amongthethorns]

You know my temper. I was more relieved than anything.

[It was quiet whisper.]

Well maybe a little mad, too.

[He draws back, sliding form Eric's arms reaching out to help him up.]

Come on, let's get to bed. We deserve a good rest. I'll clean all this up in the morning.

[Eric purrs again, letting himself be pulled upwards.]

I'm really not so helpless I can't cross the room to the next one, you know.

[The rising makes him a little dizzy, and he won't be skipping and jumping, but he's all right to move.]

I know that but if you think I'm letting you out of my sight or arms reach you're a very mistaken man let me assure you.

[He's doing this as much for himself and his own needs as he is the certainty of Eric's safety. Maybe he needs that; to see and feel for himself that Eric was really okay. He slipped an arm around his waist and started for the bedroom.]

If I could I'd carry you in there but that's not about to happen.

I think I'll get well quite fast if I stay in your arm. [He leans down, kissing the top of Alan's head. The two head towards the bedroom.]

It would be a sight if you tried. No, I'm much bigger than you.

[amongthethorns]

I certainly hope so. I will certainly do my best to take good care of you and be a suitable nurse. [He laughs softly at the kiss to his hair and rolls his eyes a bit.] At least no one will be waking you to take vitals every few minutes and you'll actually rest.

It would last for all of four seconds. I'd end u on the floor on my back wheezing like a squeaky toy. I'm going to leave all the carrying to you. Besides, you like carrying me around when I let you.

[Once they made it to the bedroom it'd be obvious Alan had fussed before he'd left - it was clean and straight as a pin. The bed turned down everything set aside neatly, a set of Eric's sleepers waiting at the foot of the bed and one Eric's bigger shirts on his side.]

[The thought of Alan wheezing sounds a little too familiar. His hold on tightens momentarily. He seems the room and smiles appreciatively.]

You've been busy.

[amongthethorns]

[He blinks but curls his hand in Eric's shirt. He shouldn't have said that, he'll be more careful with his words. He doesn't want Eric to get upset.]

I wanted everything to be ready for when you came home so we could be bit lazy together.

[ochitashinigami]

[Eric flops down into the bed, wrecking the neat sheets. He smiles up at Alan. He holds up an arm to him.]

I think we can be quite lazy now.

[amongthethorns]

[Oh Eric you ruin all his hard work. Have a sigh for that but he rolls his eyes.]

Nothing new for you, mister.

[His tone is teasing as he climbs into the bed, tucking his smaller frame tightly against Eric's side; his head on his chest. Like this he can hear the steady, sure beat of Eric's heart and it has a calming effect on him that all the tea in the world can duplicate.]

Let's just stay like this a while.

[ochitashinigami]

[Eric manages a light chuckle, petting the hair on the head that rests against his chest. He could stay this way forever.]

As long as you want...

[He smiles and clings close, his eyes drifting closed behind those glasses.]

Don't say that or I'll keep you like this forever. I suppose that might get a bit boring though wouldn't it? Just you and me laying here?

[Eric laughs quietly again.]

No. I don't think it would.

[amongthethorns]

No? Why wouldn't it?

[He's sleepy but his curious side has come out besides he's too emotionally wired now that Eric is home finally; the high, the positive emotions have him fighting the sleep.]

Because you're here... resting against me...

[Eric's fading gently into sleep.]

[amongthethorns]

I'll always be here. You're my favorite pillow after all.

[A smile and a little laugh, before he snuggles closer even if he's got half of his body draped over Eric clinging like he's afraid he'll be gone when he opens his eyes again.]

[Eric chuckles and begins to drift off.]
